Building a successful housing career for first-time buyers becomes feasible again.
The process of buying a house needs to be different. We empower first-time buyers to find an affordable and suitable house.
Why? Because every starter does want an owner-occupied house.
Buying a house. Many first-time buyers want it, few succeed. Logical: starter houses are scarce, prices are through the roof and competition is fierce. If you manage to schedule a viewing, the house is often sold before you even get inside.
At homeup, we know better than anyone how overwhelming the search for a first house to buy can be.
That's why we advocate for a new housing market. And we take a totally different approach to buying and selling. Fairer. For buyers and sellers.

Stand up for starter houses
First-time buyers deserve a fair chance in the housing market. That is why we are calling for action. Sign our petition and help us convince the government to make more starter houses available.
Together we can change the housing market and ensure that everyone, regardless of their age or income, has the chance to realize their dream of owning their own house. Your voice counts.
How we are changing the housing market
We believe the housing market can be fairer and more accessible. We want to change the market. To a place where everyone has their own place. A place you call home. We do this by committing to 4 points:
Mandatory building inspection
A mandatory structural inspection before selling a house would ensure transparency and honesty. It protects buyers from unexpected repair costs and allows sellers to address any issues up front.
Supply and (new) construction for starters
Building more houses specifically for first-time buyers, remaining available exclusively to this group, would relieve pressure on the housing market. It would give first-time buyers a fair chance to secure housing and realize their dream of owning their own house.
Temporary leases
Temporary leases can promote flow within rental and youth housing. They provide flexibility and allow more people to find suitable housing. This can contribute to a more dynamic and accessible housing market for all.
Making appraisal report mandatory
A mandatory appraisal report prior to purchasing a house can prevent extreme overbidding. It ensures realistic pricing based on the true value of the house, thereby better protecting both buyers and sellers from unrealistic market fluctuations and unnecessary risks.
